During Mr Knightley's Picnic held earlier this year I mentioned this upcoming Jane Austen related film in a post called Emma Bollywood which generated a bit of buzz.
For those who didn't already know...
Aisha (Emma) = Sonam Kapoor
Arjun (Mr Knightley) = Abhay Deol
Aisha is a film that is a modern day indian version of Jane Austen's Emma.
Directed by: Rajshree Ojha
Screenplay by: Devika Bhagat
Release date: August 6, 2010.

Looks super cute, like Clueless. I'm looking forward to watching it ;-D
The first trailer:
* image and info sources: here and here and here and description from here
* part of my Jane in June
* make sure to check out the main site for Book Rat's - Jane in June for all the reviews, interviews and giveaways galore!!!
Yep, I thought it was too much like Clueless and in the trailer at least, I saw nothing distinctly Indian about it other than the Hindi of course. Still, should be fun to watch :)
ReplyDeletePlus Abhay Deol is gorgeous as Knightley! :D
