Emma - Aisha


During Mr Knightley's Picnic held earlier this year I mentioned this upcoming Jane Austen related film in a post called Emma Bollywood which generated a bit of buzz.

For those who didn't already know...

Aisha (Emma) = Sonam Kapoor
Arjun (Mr Knightley) = Abhay Deol

Aisha is a film that is a modern day indian version of Jane Austen's Emma.

Directed by: Rajshree Ojha
Screenplay by: Devika Bhagat
Release date: August 6, 2010.

Aisha, a young upper class Delhite who has trouble minding her own business and loves interfering in other people's lives while Arjun, a rich Delhi boy who has problem with Aisha's ways and is trying to get her out of the mess she merrily gets herself into.

  1. Yep, I thought it was too much like Clueless and in the trailer at least, I saw nothing distinctly Indian about it other than the Hindi of course. Still, should be fun to watch :)

    Plus Abhay Deol is gorgeous as Knightley! :D
