V,
I’m reporting in from Washington, DC, the capital (or is it former capital now?) of the United States. Most of Washington is overrun by packs of rabid zombies.
I’ve heard via local radio broadcasts that the White House and the Capital were some of the first buildings overrun – there are rumors of tourists spread the infection. Don’t be discouraged – there’s an organized resistance here, due to all of the military presence before the outbreak.

The Pentagon is set up as a command center, and I suppose as long as they’re able to hold that, there’s hope for this area. I was living in an apartment close to the Pentagon when the apocalypse started, so I was in the perfect spot to evacuated.
Some of my friends weren’t so lucky.
We’re holed up now on Teddy Roosevelt Island in the middle of the Potomac River. With my roommates and other small bands of survivors, we number about 40 – we civilians figured that this was the most defensible spot in the area. There is concern that the food won’t last until rescue comes, and each hour there are more zombies on the other end of the bridge...
It seems like it was only a few days ago that things were…normal.
Now I’m focused on honing my defensive skills and preserving my life.
If you hear anything from Seattle, pass it on.
What is it like where you are?

ReplyDeleteThat's the problem with a zombie outbreak...things escalate so damn fast! Great post!
ReplyDeleteA very cool little snapshot from DC. Good job, Celia. I quite dig the Obama poster, too. Who found that?
ReplyDeleteI found the Obama poster by googling 'zombie + president.' There's some interesting stuff out there on the internets.
