With blogging comes some organization of thoughts and a creation of to-do lists written down or hovering in the forefront of the brain.
Everyday through the end of the month, I will post blog to-do items I've received from my Only Milo book giveaway entries.

I remember watching the BBC TV production of Brideshead Revisited (1981) starring Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons. Good one! And great cast!
I haven't read the book by Evelyn Waugh though.
Brideshead Revisited, The Sacred & Profane Memories of Captain Charles Ryder is a novel by the English writer Evelyn Waugh, first published in 1945. Waugh wrote that the novel "deals with what is theologically termed 'the operation of Grace', that is to say, the unmerited and unilateral act of love by which God continually calls souls to Himself". This is achieved by an examination of the Catholic aristocratic Marchmain family, as seen by the narrator, Charles Ryder.
And, I haven't seen the recent movie adaption with Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon (Prof. Dumbledore!).
Any thoughts on the book, TV series or recent film?

I remember the watching the BBC version years ago (didn't Andrews and Irons make it worth watching?) and did watch the most recent version. Enjoyed both of them very much. I have the book in Mt. TBR. I do like Waugh!
ReplyDeleteI loved the tv-series. After reading the book I also watched the new movie with some women of my (sometimes not so) virtual book group. That was quite a disappointment... Even though Emma Thompson was chillingly good ;)
ReplyDeleteBut the BOOK! It is great! Of course I kept seeing the characters from the BBC series in my head, but that was no problem at all. You should read it sometime!
PS. Does the above comment count as a review? I guess not! LOL (gnoegnoe being the same person as Gnoe but how do I tell Blogger that? ;)
