Alice and Fashion

Alice in Wonderland
in Vogue U.S. edition 2003

Lewis Carroll dressed her as an innocent in satin and ribbons.
Disney made her flaxen haired and saucer eyed.
In the pages of Vogue the land of merry unbirthdays and late running
rabbits shimmers to life again--as the world's most influential
designers dress the original little girl lost in their own visions.

Photographed by:  Annie Leibovitz

Alice model:  Natalia Vodianovia

Designers include
Marc Jacobs
Karl Lagerfeld
Tom Ford
Donnatella Versace
Olivier Theyskens
Jean-Paul Gaultier
Viktor & Rolf
John Galliano

Suh-weeet! I was able to find these pics that I remembered seeing waaaaay back when I used to buy Vogue. This photo collection is perfectly whimsical just like the story.

I haven't kept up with the fashion rags lately. I would love to know if you've seen Alice inspired fashion wear in the past couple years.

  1. I remember this spread! It came out while I was in college and getting Vogue in the mail... I remember showing it to my roommate and cutting bits and pieces out for posters. Great photos!
