The Healer's Apprenticeby Melanie Dickerson
Retelling: Sleeping Beauty
Description from the amazon:
Two Hearts.
One Hope.
Rose has been appointed as a healer's apprentice at Hagenheim Castle, a rare opportunity for a woodcutter's daughter like her. While she often feels uneasy at the sight of blood, Rose is determined to prove herself capable.
Failure will mean returning home to marry the aging bachelor her mother has chosen for her---a bloated, disgusting merchant who makes Rose feel ill.
When Lord Hamlin, the future duke, is injured, it is Rose who must tend to him. As she works to heal his wound, she begins to understand emotions she's never felt before and wonders if he feels the same.
But falling in love is forbidden, as Lord Hamlin is betrothed to a mysterious young woman in hiding. As Rose's life spins toward confusion, she must take the first steps on a journey to discover her own destiny.

The Chapel!! That sounds like such an intriguing and nice story that was unfolding there.
ReplyDeleteI loved all three, but best the Great Hall. I like Lord Wolfhart! :)

ReplyDeleteI choose: the chapel. I love churches. Sounds so sweet and romantic.
The Healer's CHamber! :) I've always wanted to mix those herbs and stuff. Plus, the room seemed to have witnessed the getting well of lots people.
ReplyDeleteThe chapel! I was interested in how the knight and Kathrine both got there, and where their story would go.

The most interesting room was the Healer's chamber. I've always found healing with herbs and natural remedies quite fascinating.
ReplyDeleteSigned the guestbook.
ReplyDeleteI definitely loved all rooms, but I must stay true to myself and choose Chapel. To see her distressed and left not knowing why, leaves me bewildered and intrigued.
Signed the guestbook
ReplyDeleteI really liked all of the rooms, but I think I am going to say that my favorite was the Chapel. I just thought it was a little more intriguing than the others.

ReplyDeleteAll of the stories were amazing :) All the settings were intruiging...but I'm going to have to say the Chapel was my favorite :) I love knights, chivalry, churches, AND romance, so I LOVED it!
The Chapel...love and angst for the post-teenager set...
ReplyDeleteEven though I love the feasts and dancing in the Great Hall, the romance and angst in the Chapel was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI chose to visit the Chapel.
ReplyDeleteI was a bit taken aback by the excerpt.
It sounded a bit too Mills & Boon for my taste though.

I would say the healer's chamber is my choice because here is where the healing process starts along with Marcus staring at Sabine.

I was going to say Healers Chamber right from the start, but then I started reading the Chapel, and I have to go with that. I’m insanely intrigued as to why Katheryn was in tears, and why she responds to being called ‘darling’ with a, “You dare call me that?” I wonder what had happened between the two, if anything at all, and I’m also curious about the story (side story?) of her son and the woodcutter’s daughter.
ReplyDeletei signed the guest book and honestly do i have to pick id have to say the chaple since well it unfolds beautifully and cant wait to read this story
ReplyDeleteI liked the Healer's Chamber, it seemed like there was a lot more going on than healing.
