To: Crew and Passengers of Tiny Bubble
From: J. D'amond, Society Field Agent, France
Update on the Cycle Boyz: The Tour de France is at Stage 9 in the Alps, Morzine-Avoriaz to Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.
vvb's side note: i've been watching this on the versus channel which has this nifty icon. The gear in the middle revolves round-n-round which makes it look steampunky (to me).
btw: if you haven't already, check out the Belgium-Quebec-France 2003 animated film, The Triplets of Belleville. There is an interesting cycle powered contraption with a bit of a steampunk feel to it.
Description from imdb:
When her grandson is kidnapped during the Tour de France, Madame Souza and her beloved pooch Bruno team up with the Belleville Sisters--an aged song-and-dance team from the days of Fred Astaire--to rescue him.
I found these French authors who wrote some steampunk-related stories from The Internet Review of Science Fiction. When I looked them up on the amazon a lot of these books were out of print and in French. However, I liked the cool covers so I'm posting them here for you to see.
