I've not been one to read loads of short stories though I am not against it. Mostly I've read women's literature in this type of writing, no other opportunities have really arisen.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love short stories, anthologies, etc!!!! Especially of the ghostly or paranormal genre. They're perfect reads for a midday book *quickie* (almost said *nooner* hahahaha) ... or right before bed when you don't DARE get caught up in a novel and read until it's like 5 a.m. and you've gotta get up at 7 (I think we've ALL been there, done that).
ReplyDeleteNow, not everyone knows this but short storys are so much more interesting with a fresh pint of Ben & Jerry's alongside, especially their new PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE lmtd edition flavor which I am proud to say I scarfed down last night while curled up with The Clique ;D
btw - Barnes & Nobles puts out one of the best short story series of books ever. Their *100 little* series.
I love reading short stories. They're a great way to test drive some new authors so to speak. I usually read UF, fantasy and horror short stories.

I like mystery and horror short stories. I like to read an anthology every once in awhile to take a break from reading novels.
