Fool For Books Giveaway Hop

Fool For Books Giveaway Hop
April 1-2, 2011
hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer
and
The Bookish Snob

...and so a ginormous hedgehog named Norm accosted me as I went out to me mailbox to get this morning's post.

I kid you not. He was a humungous hedgehog.

He says to me, Norm that is, and he looks me in the eye with his blazing red eyes and he bustles his spines and says to me.

Thou shalt offer another giveaway today!

I stood there agog. Imagine a hedgehog ordering em about.

MAKE HASTE!

And poof-ety poof he disappeared in a flash. Norm. ha!

And so, says I to meself as I walked back to me warm kitchen and whistling tea kettle, I must get meself to the keyboard and type fast.

Fast I say.

Faster than the speed of light.

For who knows what a very (extra) large (angry) hedgehog (named Norm) might do if not obeyed.

Mind you, I might find meself in a pickle either squashed or speared by a prickly spine.

So, here goes, no foolin'

  1. Thanks for the giveaway and I hope Norm stressed that the giveaway should be International.

I have read quite a lot of steampunk and enjoyed most of them, although I find the YA ones don't do such a good job of worldbuilding.

The last I read was Cherie Priests' Boneshaker

  10. Norm is quite an enterprising hedgehog, isn't he? I admire his spunk. Yes, I've read a number of steampunk novels, including, Thunderer by Felix Gilman, Thomas Riley by Nick Valentino, The Difference Engine, Perdito Street Station by China Mieville, along with many short stories and a couple of steampunk anthologies. I was so inspired about this exciting genre that I published a special steampunk issue of my magazine Fissure, (which offers experimental writing), and I'm working on a steampunk novel as well.
