I always love going with the standard witch costume - you can never have enough pointed hats in your wardrobe or striped socks - Sometimes I switch it up and go with something sexy. I love Halloween!

We don't have Halloween but if I've got to choose, it will be Casper! If that is an option since he's a kind ghost but I don't know if I can be transparent like him. =)

ReplyDeleteWe have Halloween, but a little different. On the eleventh of November the childeren are going to trick and treat, but without costumes. We don't celebrate it like you in the US, too bad, because it does sounds like awesome. So..my costume would be a witch costume. Something that looks like Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus. Love it.

ReplyDeleteLast year I a member of the Roman aristocracy. I made a wine-colored toga with a cream-colored tunic complete with gold trim. I sculpted an amphora out of clay and served candy out of it to the trick-or-treaters. It tunred out nicely and I got a few complements from kids and parents alike. Plus, it only cost me about $8 to make because I used some old bed sheets! xD
And the one from when I was 6 YO. My aunt used to make me all of my of my Halloween costumes. She lives in TX, I lived on the West Coast. Anyway, that year she made me a purple princess dress with a country flair. It was halfway between a fairy princess and a rodeo queen and I loved it! My favorite thing was the swingy fringe and the "Doll Parton" wig. I told everyone it was my real hair. Good times, good times... :)

ReplyDeleteI think my favorite costume was a simple one -- I went as Death from Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Easy and comfortable. But I would really love to be Delerium... maybe this year. :)
one of my favorite past costumes was as a pharaoh queen - it was really hard not to get anything on the white costume, but i managed! even did a great job on the eye makeup....

My favorite was when I dressed like a scary witch, complete with nose and wart and green face. It scared some kids.

One year we made my stepdaughters costume. She went as Sophitia from Soul Calibur. We spent hours making it. But it was so much fun and she loved the costume. Almost 5 years later and she still has the shield (we took a plastic one and glued felt over it but did a really intricate design.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was from about a bazillion years ago when I was just 8 years old. My mom dressed me up as a beautiful princess - complete with a mini ballgown, tiara and lipstick - and I won first place :D

I love Halloween, and usually dressed as cat when I was a kid, but nothing compares to all the awesome costumes I have seen as an anime fan, cosplayers have some awesome costumes. I once saw someone dressed as mechaGodzilla, and omg that was amazing.
