SUBJECT: Mad Men show in-a-nutshell

Mad Men
American dramatic television series
Created and produced by Matthew Weiner
Broadcast on the American cable network AMC
Produced by Lionsgate Television
official site

Mad Men is set in the 1960s, initially at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City, and later at the newly created firm of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

The show centers on Don Draper (Jon Hamm), creative director at Sterling Cooper and a founding partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, as well as those in his life in and out of the office.

It also depicts the changing social mores of 1960s America. -wikipedia

Season One: We meet Don Draper and find out that he is a naughty boy. But there is something irresistable about him.

Season Two: We find out more about Don's past. And continue to love him despite his continued bad boy behaviour.

Season Three: There is a shift. Don hits rock bottom with work, family and relationships. But he pulls himself up and rises from the ashes.

Season Four: has just begun...

My hope: Don becomes the all-american-hero we want. YAY!

Note: Along with Don, the ensemble cast members each have rich and detailed characters just as interesting to watch and follow. I will do in-a-nutshells of them in future Mad Men Mini weekends.

  3. This is one of the best shows out there. I get the biggest kick seeing the ideas tossed around for items that I vaguely(I guess I would have been about 8 to 10 at this time) recall from this era. Also was totally amazed at the sexual revolution going on at this time. For some reason I though us kids of the 70's were more into free love(boy was I naive and surprised)than this era of my parents.
