Droolworthy: A Box of Lovecraft

Droolworthy
wish i could...

You know how there are some books out there that you would love to own but for some reason or another you just cannot pull the trigger to actually purchase it?

Yeah, usually due to lack of funds or proper justification (in the mind).

I plan to share some droolworthy books I come across in this new feature at vvb32 reads as these will forever be on my want list and may never show up In My Mailbox.

Feel free to share any of your droolworthy titles with me in comments.

First up, is a set of books. Not just any old books, but miniature books.

I spotted these on The Horror, The Horror blog post by Bo Press and thought...
How horrifically adorable!

Perfect to share during August Thrills-n-Chills!

A Box of Lovecraft
created by Bo Press

The box:
1 3/4" wide x 1 1/4 deep x 1 3/8" high. The books themselves are 1" x 5/8"

A rugged box of stained basswood holds five books by H. P. Lovecraft and his circle.

The books:

De Vermis Mysteriis
Liber Ivoris
The Eltdown Shards
Cultes des Goules
Unaussprechlichen Kulten

The box has a false bottom which houses a copy of the Necronomican, chained shut. The box is wrapped with stretched leather nailed and tied to the wood. The interior of the books, to save all but the initiate from the dread effects of their contents, have been printed in ink made visible only by a certain obscure cantrip. (They're blank)

*GASP* this secret compartment with hidden book just tickles!
