I Dated Jane Austen by T.C. Boyle was written in 1977 which is part of the T.C. Boyle Stories.

It tells of Boyle's date with our beloved Jane. He arrives at the Austen residence (dressed in 70's attire), and is shown into a parlor to meet Reverend Austen.

I'm looking forward to this latest YA Jane book

*** Austen alert ***

It's been announced and in the news lately that Natalie Portman will be Elizabeth Bennet in the upcoming movie version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I can't wait to be dazzled by her martial arts abilities as she slays unmentionables.

But true fans want to know, who's going to be MR DARCY ???

I'd like to see a lesser known or new actor become Darcy-fied.

How about you?

  1. I think it's going to be a long search for the perfect mr.Darcy. I mean how can you beat colin firth?

  2. That new YA novel sounds interesting :) Happy birthday to Jane Austen! I'm going to watch Real Jane Austen to celebrate tonight!

  3. These books sound like fun ! I still can't believe how many Austen-ish books are coming out. I wonder what Jane Austen would think of all that.

As for the movie, I love Natalie Portman and I suppose she'll be great ! Concerning Mr Darcy, how can anyone do better than Colin Firth ? Like you, I would love him to be played by un unknown actor. Or by David Tennant. *sigh*

  4. Sorry Nina, but Matthew McFadyen is my Mr. Darcy! As long as he's good looking that's all right with me!

I can't believe they're making a movie out of it! Yeah!

  5. I didn't know it was her birthday! She's really gettin up there in the years!

  6. Great post! Thanks for showing those two books! Looks interesting.
