Caught my fancy: Magical Me autobiography by Gilderoy Lockhart
My pick takes you to Diagon Alley again. This time to the bookstore, Flourish and Blotts.

Flourish and Blotts Bookseller is a bookstore in Diagon Alley where most Hogwarts students purchase their schoolbooks. The store has had a few problems with certain books, such as The Invisible Book of Invisibility which cost them a great deal of money though they never found them, and The Monster Book of Monsters which tore each other up as well as biting the manager when he tried to get one out. -per Harry Potter Wiki

autobiography
by Gilderoy Lockhart
...when Lockhart was a teacher of Defence Against the Dark Arts in Hogwarts school, he offered a signed copy of this book to the student who composed the best poem about his defeat of the Wagga Wagga Werewolf (as a homework assignment). -per Harry Potter Wiki
If this were for sale, I'd buy it. Gilderoy was portrayed as such a hilarious character in the movie!
I would love to read the accounts of the adventures he appropriated. I'm sure they would be filled with elaborate and outrageous descriptions.

What caught your fancy in this first film?
Don't forget: your comment counts towards the CSN grabaway.

I liked the second one. I loved the dessert that Dobby unfortunately ended up dumping on the Dursely's dinner guests head. I'm starting to think all I notice in these movies is the food lol.
ReplyDeleteThe bit where Lockhart *tries* to fix Harry's arm after he breaks it is my favourite part! Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteFlourish and Blotts! *_*
ReplyDeleteI think I would buy the autobiography, too. XD
I thought the owl delivering the howler and wiping out on the dining table was funny.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of this one is Golom. He almost steals the show.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Colleen -- that bitsy owl was pretty funny. I did get a kick out of Lockhart -- it was wonderful, perfect casting for that role - just like I imagined he'd be when I read the book!
ReplyDeleteI love this one because it is where we meet Dobbie.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I was laughing during the first film and I thought it was for kids only, but in the end, it was pretty good!
ReplyDeleteI loved the owl and the one who took Harry to Hogwarts! :)
I liked it when Harry,Ron and Fang, set out to find the spiders. For some reason, it made me laugh to see Fang jump in the tiny car. I love neo mastiffs.

My favourite HP movie. I loved the flying Ford Anglia, and the scene where Ron and the twins help Harry escape from the Dursleys, with Uncle Vernon falling off the window.
ReplyDeleteLucius Malfoy!!! Before this movie I thought he was aslime. After this movie I thought he was cool!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part has to be after Lockhart's memory charm backfires and Ron hits him over the head with a rock }:)
ReplyDeleteI loved the flying car, and how the broken wand is important later in the movie!
ReplyDeleteI loved Dobby, too ... and even with his mishaps, you couldn't HELP but have a soft spot for the little elf!
ReplyDeleteBut the flying car was awesome; I felt like a little kid watching the first two movies lol And I forgot all about the bookstore! We're going to have to go thru our DVD collection and fill in the missing HP spots, I think! :D
