Vampire Diaries s1.10: The Turning Point

Vampire Diaries
Episode 10
The Turning Point
Thursday night on CW

Synopsis from TV Guide:
Damon learns another vampire is in town when a body drained of its blood is discovered, and he searches for the person. Meanwhile, Elena confesses her love for Stefan and persuades him to stay in Mystic Falls, but she also makes a devastating discovery that adversely affects her relationship with him; and Jeremy resumes a hobby of drawing fantasy creatures that he had abandoned after his parents died.

My quick bits:

Good for Jenna - she did not let the vampires into the house (unbeknownst).

And who ends up reading vampire diaries by family relative? -->Elena's brother

I say steampunk. The vampire compass indicator is definitely steamy!

Something I've been wondering. Maybe I have to go back and watch some past episodes, but why doesn't the vervain have the same effect on Stefan like it does with Damon? If it did he shouldn't he be really weak everytime he got near Elena?

Amusing quote:

We could try out for the Amazing Race.
-Damon

  1. I *think* the vervain issue is this: it protects Elena from any fancy mojo that Damon might pull on her, but otherwise it is dormant when Elena is not being threatened by Damon or any other vampire. That's my little theory.

  2. I think PolishOutlander is right - - the vervaine only keeps Elena from being mind-controlled. Unless, of course, she ingests it and a vamp should bite her.

I love this show and I am not ashamed to admit it. It has become appointment t.v. for me.

Did not like Damon or "get" him at first. Now I do. The actor is fantastic in the role. Damon is evil but you can't help but like him. Stefan is my favorite though!

  4. PolishOutlander and Lori are both right about the vervaine. It protects Elena from Damon's powers. It does not however protect her from bites or make the vampires around her weak.

I love this show! Both of the boys are fun to watch and Elena is not the weak heroine of many other things. She is not fascinated with the vampires in a creepy way, which is nice to see.

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. Love, love, love this show. Double episode last night on TV here (Australia - we are sometimes a bit behind!)was this episode and the one before. Loved the ending of this one with Elana screaming hysterically because she can see someone coming for her while she is trapped in the car.
Can't help starting to fall for Damon...
