Pemberley Ball: Mr. Darcy, another Young

Seated in the far corner of the room is an elderly lady telling tales of the mystical and fantastical kind. She is known to some to have a gift to see the future. This latest story she weaves is one in which our Mr. Darcy has wed Elizabeth Bennet - imagine that!

In any case, the story really is about their son, a younger Mr. Darcy.

Find out more about his adventure here...

Young Mr. Darcy in Love:
Pride and Prejudice Continues
(The Darcys and the Bingleys)
by Marsha Altman
Amazon | Goodreads

Two young suitors, torn apart by time and circumstance. Geoffrey Darcy, son of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, is completing his third and final year at Cambridge under the watchful eye of his cousin and graduate fellow George Wickham Junior.

Georgiana Bingley, daughter of Charles Bingley and Jane Bennet, is spending her time in London with her sister and friends, where matchmaking and flirtation rules the social scene. But trouble is brewing with King George IV’s advisors, including a scheming minister and a mysterious figure from Germany bearing secrets of the Darcy family.

Can the family survive the suspicions of the highest court of the land?

In Altman’s seventh installment of The Darcys and the Bingleys, she follows the children of the characters of Pride and Prejudice as they struggle to right the wrongs of the past and find their own wedded bliss.

~~- Pemberley Ball schedule -~~

  1. It would be a modern retelling of P&P called Pride, Prejudice and Cheese Grits

    1. I just got this one after I reviewed Persuasion, Captain Wentworth and Cracklin' Cornbread. Looking forward to it, Princess!

    2. Persuasion, Captain Wentworth and Cracklin' Cornbread are on my wish list.

  2. I enjoy the small P&P themed board books for toddlers. The images are so cute. -Lady Vee

  3. None, sadly. The only retelling I have ever read was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and I didn't think too highly of it. Again, sadly.

  4. I really liked KC Kahler's Boots and Backpacks as a modern retelling and Brenda Webb's Fitzwilliam Darcy An Honorable Man was an engaging variation.

  5. I'm going with Death Comes to Pemberley since I enjoyed the mini series that just aired :)

  6. Only Mr. Darcy Will Do by Kara Louise. It was a very sweet story and I loved it!

  7. I just finished listening to First Impressions by Charlie Lovett and absolutely loved it. Fantastic book.

  8. I loved the fanfic of Persuasion by Laura Louise and Susan Kaye, Love Suffers Long, and is Kind. It isn't how I would have chosen for Anne and Captain Wentworth to end up, but it was beautifully done. And as long as it was, I wish it had gone on further telling their two stories.
