FIRST time at the Pemberley Ball?

Do not fret. In essence it is a kind of role-playing interactive blog game. What is this you ask? Basically, I (or actually my Regency persona, Lady Vee) will be posting festivities and comments for you to participate in throughout the event.

As guests, you are encouraged to react and comment to the posts as your persona character. You are welcome to be as creative as you like.

PARTY Crashers:

Are you undecided as to whether or not to come to the party?

Are you unable to commit the time to attend the party "live"?

No need to worry. You are welcome to visit anytime during the party weekend or afterwards to comment on party posts and enter any of my Jane Austen related giveaways!

~*~

UNTIL then join me on October 30 for ...

Talk Like Jane Austen Day
created by the Talk Like Jane Austen Day Organization

On the day of, comment on that post with a quote from your favorite Jane Austen tale and you can be eligible to win a Jane Austen related book.

  2. How exciting! My name is Lady Bianca Hyde, and I love attending balls. It just so happens that I recently ordered a new gown (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/50735933276896998/) from my dressmaker, and it will be just the thing for me to wear when I am introduced to Mr. Darcy.

  3. Salutations, My Dear -

Please be apprised the Duchess DeBorde shall be in attendance this year. As expected, Leggs will be snugly ensconced in the voluminous confines of an exquisite creation (as will an unobtrusive flask of Absinthe- just between us girls *wink wink*)

I shall heartily endeavor to ensure propriety is well observed with our younger guests, .... unless, of course, the whims of fancy dictate otherwise. Yours Truly, DD ~

  4. The Honorable Miss Sophia Maitland will attend and graciously thanks her hosts Mr. and Mrs. Darcy for the honor.

I look forward to participating the ball attired in this lovely frock: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/249668373066009788/

I am the sole child of Viscount Eversley of Sabre Woods in Northumberland. Papa has left me a sizeable dowry and the townhouse in London though his title and the family estate will go to my cousin. Papa and Aunt Felicity, my chaperone, will accompany me to the Darcy ball so I may meet eligible gentlemen. He wishes me only to be happy. And with that in mind...will Colonel Fitzwilliam be in attendance?

I tweeted the event and posted on my Pinterest board.

  5. I am Agnes Wilby - not a very promising name. No doubt a wallflower in the making. Though I do love to attend parties & balls.

I would love to meet Mr Darcy, but no doubt it is Mr Collins I will attract.

  6. I am Miss Avis Dunbar and most graciously accept your kind invitation. As I have recently relieved myself of a most unfortunate engagement with a man of questionable motives a ball would be extremely diverting.

My aunt, Lady Helena Crowe, will be accompanying me in the hopes that I meet an eligible gentleman. She was acquainted with Lady Anne Darcy and is most anxious that I be introduced to Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.

I so look forward to meeting all of you.

  7. Princess Lúthien, an immortal elf from a different world, discovered a time portal which open its door to London in 1800s. After familiarising with social mores of this strange land, she accepted the most enticing invitation to Pemberley. She thought it most becoming to wear http://thedreamstress.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/1810.jpg as it brings out the beauty in her.

She wishes to become acquainted with two of the most eligible bachelors that is the talk of London - Mr Darcy and Mr Bingley. She would not mind a brief flirtation with them as she knew she will be destined to travel on to other strange lands.

She can be contacted at evangelineace2020(at)yahoo(dot)com

  9. Greetings Dear Georgianna,
My aunt, Lady Augusta Crosby and I, are very pleased to accept your thoughtful invitation to your Ball. My aunt will most likely wear her black, but she has decided to splurge and get me this beautiful dress for my first Ball. https://www.etsy.com/listing/203724044/empire-regency-era-elegant-ensemble?ref=sr_gallery_7&ga_search_query=regency+era+gown&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery

I am so looking forward to seeing you again, and meeting your darling Fitzwilliam, whom you have told me so much about. Please let him know we will arrive in my aunt's barouche, rather than my phaeton. That should allow him some peace of mind!
    Sincerely,
    Lady Genoviece Greenly

  10. I would love to attend the Pemberley Ball and would like to tell you a little about myself, I am Lady Arabella Kitteredge and I am thoroughly pleased to be invited to this lovely event. I am from Devonshire originally but after the death of my beloved husband Lord Kitteredge I moved to Sussex and have lived there quite comfortably for 8 years. I am very much looking forward to meeting Mr Darcy and Mr Wickham at the ball, and thank you again for giving me an excuse to purchase a beautiful ball gown! Here is what I will be wearing for the ball: http://fashionthroughhistory.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/regency-dresses-collage.jpg

I hope that we have suitable weather for this event so that we can all arrive and get home safely. I thoroughly enjoy the company of others because I rarely have a chance to attend such an amazing event, this will be the highlight of my year. Please take care and your generosity is much appreciated.

  11. I'm Miss Phillipa Hodge and graciously accept your invitation. Though I'm not much of a dancer, I do love balls and I'm most eager to acquaint myself with the lovely ladies who will be present.
I'm especially looking forward to meeting Mr Darcy and Mr Bingley, both of whom I've heard as charming gentlemen.
I'll be wearing this delightful ball gown:
