Wonder Woman: Love and Murder

Inspiration: Superhero mood - so I pulled this out of my tbr pile

Description from the book:
The action begins when Wonder Woman, in her disguise as Special Agent Diana Prince of the Depatment of Metahuman Affairs, is assigned to capture... Wonder Woman. How can she accomplish this impossible job without revealing her secret identity? This is just the start of the Amazon Warriors's problems, as Diana must relearn how to exist as a human being, and a deadly foe begins to close a net on her -- leading to a catastrophic outcome!

My thoughts:
In-a-word: Identity

Loved it! Loved the storyline! Loved the colors! Loved the action!

When I first heard that Jodi was involved with this creation of Wonder Woman I just had to get a copy for myself. Love Jodi's novels and writing style. I was not disappointed.

I have not read any of the previous Wonder Woman comics to be able to compare. In any case, the book has a brief herstory of Wonder Woman so you can follow along with the story alright. You'll get some interaction with Batman and Superman and even a touch of romance with Nemesis. Definitely, fun to read and see!

My first sighting:

My exposure to Wonder Woman is from watching the Wonder Woman TV series starring Lynda Carter (1975-1979). She captured my heart along with others I'm sure.

First cover:

Sensation Comics #1
(January 1942)

Per Wikipedia:
Wonder Woman is a DC Comics superhero created by William Moulton Marston. First appearing in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941), she is one of three characters to have been continuously published by DC Comics since the company's 1944 inception (except for a brief hiatus in 1984).

Her powers include super strength, enhanced speed and stamina, and flight. She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. She also makes use of her Lasso of Truth (which forces those bound by it to tell the truth), a pair of indestructible bracelets, and an invisible plane.

Latest movie
:

An animated film was released March 3, 2009, starring Keri Russell in the title role. One of my favorites, Nathan Fillion (former Captain of the Firefly spaceship), does the voice for Steve Trevor.
