AND watched: in theatre

Seoul Searching (2015)
Director/Writer: Benson Lee
Starring: Justin Chon, Jessika Van, In-Pyo Cha
-Comedy, Drama, Romance | imdb | my rating: 5

During the 1980s, the Korean government created a special summer camp for "gyopo" or foreign born teenagers where they could spend their summer in Seoul to learn about their motherland. While the intentions of the program were honorable, the activities of the teens were not. The program was eventually cancelled after a few years because the government simply could not control the youth. Seoul Searching is a teen comedy and coming of age film, based on a true story about one of the summer camps that took place in 1986.

=====> LOVED it! Reminded me of John Hughes films of the 80s. In fact, the soundtrack for this incorporated a lot of my favorite 80s songs.

Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Director: Justin Lin
Writers: Simon Pegg and Doug Jung
Based on tv series by: Gene Roddenberry
Starring: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban
-Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi | imdb | my rating: 4

The USS Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.

Oscar nominated for Makeup and Hairstyling.

Lots of action and funny quips in between.

* comment and TELL me what you have acquired for your shelves recently

  1. There are some really pretty covers on your haul this week-I love the cover of the book about Chile. I do love my mountains! The Bad Girls one is also very eyecatching! I hope you have some good reading time this week. Enjoy your books!

  2. Bad Girls Throughout History sounds interesting!

  3. Great haul! I hope you enjoy your new books!

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  4. I went to the J-Pop summit two years ago. While it was really fun, it was overcrowded. Just waiting for food took an hour. I hope they have figured out a way to control the crowds. I would love to go back. I lived in Japan for 3 years and so I am totally into anything about Japanese culture.

  5. Great addition to your shelves! I just watched Star Trek Beyond this past weekend too and greatly enjoyed it. I received two books last week, but am valiently trying to get through backlogs on my shelves.
