Pirate Paul

On a serious note...

Eco-Pirate: The Story of Paul Watson
Directed by Trish Dolman
Release date: 2011 Canada

Description from Film Catalogue:
ECO-PIRATE: THE STORY OF PAUL WATSON is a feature-length documentary about a man on a mission to save the planet and its oceans.

Part Captain Nemo, part Grizzly Man, the film follows Watson in the act as he repeatedly flouts the law, so that he may apprehend what he sees as the more serious law-breakers the illegal poachers of the world.

From the genesis of Greenpeace to the sinking of a pirate whaling ship off Portugal, from clashes with fisherman in the Galapagos to Watsons recent headline-grabbing battles with the Japanese whaling fleet in Antarctica, this documentary chronicles the extraordinary life of one of the most controversial figures in the environmental movement.

Giveaway: Down With Love by Babara Novak

Behold: behind the door...

Down with Love
by Barbara Novak
aka Eve Ahlert

Published: 2003
Publisher: Harper Paperbacks
Genre: Comedy, Romance
Paperback: 288 pages
Rating: 5

Description from the amazon:
Abstain from love ...
Indulge in chocolate ...
Enjoy sex à la carte!
Can a woman living in the early '60s lead such a life?

Barbara Novak believed so and made it the premise of her revolutionary bestseller -- a feminist manifesto inviting women to say no to love and yes to career, self-fulfillment, and independence.

Follow Barbara as she conquers the bestseller lists and quickly becomes the target of notorious ladies' man Catcher Block, a hotshot journalist determined to prove her book a lie.

What happens when the woman with all the answers meets the man of many questions?

Filled with frantic roundelays, wild instances of mistaken identities, and ever-changing perceptions about love and sex, this tantalizing tell-all—penned by Novak herself -- provides the low-down on her showdown with this man-about-town.

Inside you'll find:

Scandalous passages from the book that started it all.

An excerpt from the latest issue of Now, the magazine Barbara started as a follow-up to her groundbreaking book.

Catcher's unpredictable exposé on the mystifying Miss Novak.

So wacky is this tale of love that it inspired a soon-to-be-released movie by Twentieth Century Fox starring Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor!

That’s right, this is the story of a book that inspired a love, which inspired a movie, which inspired this book!

My two-bits:
In-a-word(s): à la carte
Super cute book that is just as cute as the movie.

Also included within are photos from the film.
