HAPPY THINGS:
1. The Great Candycopia ice cream flavor creation for Ice Scream! Series from Salt & Straw
As darkness falls across the land, the candymaking hour is close at hand. Swarms of housemade trick-or-treat favorites--Kit Kats, Reeses, Snickers, Heath bars--are transformed into milk chocolate -buried crispy feuilletine, peanut butter trapped inside walls of chocolate, and alomonds smothered in BOOrbon vanilla toffee before getting folded into a diabolically delicious salted butterscotch ice cream, stuck for eterinity.
2. Won free tickets to a screening of The Last Duel
3. Blue Angels flyby from Alta Plaza Park with picnic goodies - Fleet Week in San Francisco

That ice cream flavor sounds yummy! lol I love when we have an air show here because I'm close enough to the airport where they have it that the planes usually fly over my house. Hope you have a great week!

I'm curious about the Last Duel- great cast- and I think I read that Rhys Bowen a few years back. I know I read at least one of those.
ReplyDeleteI love that image to the right!
I miss visiting SF during Fleet Week. The Filipino sci-fi sounds cool.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
That ice cream sounds stupendous!!

Ha! The ice cream description is great...and does sound yummy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win and nice Blue Angel photo.
You have an interesting group of books. I had never heard of Aurora Floyd.
People of Abandoned Character sounds like a good addition to the Ripper genre.
I like the sound of The Last Duel.
Have a good week and Happy Reading and watching!
That ice cream description had me salivating! I was also hearing it in the voice of that narrator in Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' MV, so perhaps that added to the vibe! I'm glad you enjoyed 'The Last Duel', I'm hoping to see it soon. And great books; I adore the Mitford cover, something so cool and classical about it! I hope you have a lovely week ahead :)

That ice cream sounds amazing!! Congrats on the win. I would love to see the Blue Angels but I don't think we have an air port big enough around here. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteTempting books! That ice cream is calling to me! Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteBoth movies look fab, I can't wait til I have a bit of time to check them out. I've been bingeing on Squid Game (started too late, stopped at ep.5 lol). Kashimada's Touring the Land of the Dead looks interesting. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteWe went to an airshow in Florida a couple of years ago and had a great time watching the Blue Angels. I can't comprehend that kind of coordination.
ReplyDeleteThe ice cream sounds delicious! We've only been to Salt & Straw a couple of times but it was really good!
Enjoy your week!
Oh, lucky you, I'm a bit envious of your tickets for The Last Duel, I'm hoping I get to see it soon. Also, that ice cream, yum!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, happy reading!
Mmm, ice cream. I read Olive Kitteridge in college and really liked it. I hope you enjoy your new books!
