Fun one - especially if you are familiar with a scifi fan convention scene. Great mashup with references to favorite American scifi tv and films (not only Star Trek).

Amusing passage:
He saw a middle-aged man in a bathrobe milling around listlessly between the room's two beds. A man with two bloody stumps where his hans used to be. And a grotesqque third eyeball perched somewhat impractically, on the top of this bald skull.
