My two-bits:
In-a-word(s): nexus
While the underlying message about the relationship with humans and planet earth touches me, the story was meh.

I liked the various landscapes and locations mentioned i.e. Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho.

And the bits about Native American and Irish folklore pertaining to the Trickster were interesting.

BUT, I didn't like the characters. I didn't feel any connections or sympathy for them.
