First Comes Love series:
Love Connection
book 2 - tba

Zombie sighting:
When she's accomplished the look of a zombie bride from Dawn of the Dead, she starts pulling at the dress like a mad woman. -chapter 4

First sentence(s):
"You've been staring at those two plane tickets for almost an hour now. My role as bartender compels me to ask: what's the big dilemma?"

Have you ever wondered what might have been?

Gemma Dawson is at the airport, staring at two plane tickets to two different cities. Two different weddings. Two possible futures. She’s at a crossroads.

Be maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding or crash her ex’s?
Gemma’s decision, unknown to her, hinges on a delayed flight and a chance meeting. Now her life is about to go down two parallel tracks—will Gemma fly toward a life with her first love or a future with a man she’s not even met yet?

My two-bits:

This is a two-in-one kind of romance told with parallel story lines with generally feel good moments.

The characters are likable and stay true in each scenario. Love all around.

Lots of fun references to the 1980's. Loved the mention of the love of burgers ;-)

Got me thinking of fate and following gut feelings.

First sentence(s):
"Excuse me," I say, trying to attract the attention of the man sitting next to me on the plane.
He ignores me.

Joanna Price is a city girl with the perfect life. She loves her job as a book editor, she just married Liam, high profile bestselling author and the man of her dreams, and she’s headed to the Caribbean to enjoy two weeks of paradise for her luxurious honeymoon.

Connor Duffield is a gruff, grumpy rancher from the Midwest. He is a country boy who has a no-nonsense approach to life, more scars than he’d like to admit, and he hates city girls.

So it’s just a misfortune they have to sit next to each other for a six hour plane ride. Even more so when their flight is caught in the perfect storm and Joanna wakes up stranded on a desert island with Connor, the very man she hoped she would never have to see again.

Why are they alone on this forsaken island? What happened to Joanna’s husband?

When her dream honeymoon turns into a hilarious tropical nightmare, Joanna’s first thought is survival. However, she and Connor will quickly discover just how boring paradise can be. As the days turn to weeks, and then months, this mismatched pair will have to learn how to coexist and how to resist the sparkles of an attraction they weren’t prepared to feel.

When they are finally rescued will Joanna’s marriage be saved as well, or will the life she knew and loved be in ruins?

My two-bits:

I found the first half of this book to be a cute unexpected island adventure. The experience is a perfect way to escape from the cold days of winter with bits of survival tips sprinkled within.

The second half was just as entertaining as the main character, Joanna, gets back to her realities and dealing with what happens after being saved from being stranded on an island. I liked how her character growth in the departments of love and career developed.

I especially loved that Joanna's career is in the book business as there is a dose of what goes on behind-the-scene scenes.

All told with the right touch of humor that warms the heart.

About the author:
Hi! I’m a writer of romantic comedy, cat’s lover, coffee addict, and shoes hoarder.
Besides writing, I love reading (surprise, surprise), cooking—and eating—especially pasta, going to the movies and obviously ordering a gigantic bowl of popcorn, and watching too much TV.

I understand that mosquitoes play a role in the ecosystem as a part of other animals’ diet, and I don’t want to starve all those frog princes out there, but I could really live without them.

Coloring with Your Octopus:
A Coloring Book for Domesticated Cephalopods

by Brian Kesinger
-Coloring book, Steampunk

A cinematically proportioned coloring book based on Brian Kesinger's popular picture book "Walking Your Octopus" which showcases the day-to-day adventures of independent girl-about-town Victoria Psismall and her pet land octopus Otto. Forty-eight ready-to-color illustrations humorously chronicle the duo's home life, travels and social adventures. The Victorian era characters and period-influenced design elements provide a visual spectacle that is as fun to look at as it is to color.
