When Gia Montgomery's boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she decides to do the unthinkable…convince the cute guy waiting to pick up his sister to pretend to be her boyfriend for the night. The task is simple: two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies.

The problem is that days after prom, she can't stop thinking about her fill-in boyfriend. But can Gia turn her fake boyfriend into a real one without exposing her lie and possibly destroying her friendships and her newfound relationship?

Smartly observed and wonderfully romantic, Kasie West's talent shines in this tale of one girl's unexpected quest to find love…and possibly herself.

First sentence(s):
In some part of my brain, probably the logical part that seemed to be missing at the moment, I knew I should let go and walk away, maintain some of my dignity.

My two-bits:

Loved this contemporary coming of age novel.

The main character's growth, Gia, was amusing to watch. Gia, goes through a transformation in her senior year of high school and learns lessons in friendship and romance. Towards the end of the story, Gia has a goal of being a better person which is a great goal to attain in life.

In general there are likable characters and fun (and funny situations) made this a feel good read all-around.

  1. Oh boy, that's quite the premise. I would be so curious to see what happens after an opening scene like that. Glad it was good. I enjoy coming of age stories.
