Read-a-thon: Feed Me Seymour! challenge

Linus's Blanket is requesting passages of food in books.

I didn't think I'd come across one in my current reading, but I kinda did.

The infamous Chicken Nuggets!

Ms. Geiss glanced at the tray of heated nuggets. Against her will, the smell made her own mouth water. Somewhere in one of those freezer boxes, she knew, were the deep-fried and nugget-processed remains of Mister Delmonico, the former principal, as well as at least half the former staff of the elementary school.

Well, nuggets with a twist. Hope I didn't just gross you out. I realize this would be an unappetizing treat for non-zombies ;-D

This passage is from page 9 of the short story, This Year's Class Picture by Dan Simmons (my review) which is part of:

In a zombocalyptic world what becomes of the kids?

This short story presents the kids of the future and the tale of an extraordinary gun-toting teacher.

This story also goes to show that if a teacher's worth their salt, they can teach anyone and anything.

Read-a-thon: Hours 8-10

I whipped up a batch of adventures with cecelia bedelia's Sunshine Through the Clouds Cookies during these hours. I'll be munching on them with a pot of tea while reading later this afternoon.

Yummy in the tummy.

Yup, took a break to bake, visit some blogs and post up some mini-challenge entries.

Gotta get back to some serious reading.

Read-a-thon: Collection Obsession challenge

Sorry to say.

My only collection is of books.

However while inspecting my house for this mini-challenge, I found this growing collection in my daughter's room. An assortment of her hand-made fairies that are part of the Kabuniverse world my daughter has concocted. The pictures here are only but a few in her collection. FYI: each fairy has a name and special powers unique to each.

Read-a-thon: Mixup the Titles challenge

Cereal and Seven Up
by vvb32 reads

Sheila is not your typical teen. She likes her cereal with seven up. She also likes to fly by night. It's an alien thing like how the Roswell teens like prodigious amounts of tabasco on everything. But unlike the Roswell teens, Sheila doesn't know that she's an alien.
