TEA at Downton Abbey: schedule

TEA at Downton Abbey
a virtual book event
July 20-24, 2013

Downton Abbey is a British period drama television series created by Julian Fellowes and co-produced by Carnival Films and Masterpiece. It first aired on ITV in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2010 and on PBS in the United States on 9 January 2011 as part of the Masterpiece Classic anthology.

The series, set in the Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey, depicts the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the post-Edwardian era — with the great events in history having an effect on their lives and on the British social hierarchy.

Such events depicted throughout the series include news of the sinking of the RMS Titanic in the first series; the outbreak of World War I, the Spanish influenza pandemic, and the Marconi scandal in the second series; and the Interwar period and the formation of the Irish Free State in the third series. -wikipedia

If you have been hooked (like me) you are eagerly awaiting the release of the fourth season (in US January 2014).

Join me in celebrating (or learning about) the world of Downton Abbey with this tea event.

  7. I have watched the series since it began airing in autumn 2010. As I costume drama lover, I highly recommend it as it has some of the best and witty lines by Maggie Smith, unexpected twists, gorgeous settings and is beautifully acted by all the casts. I can't wait for September as the new series will start.

Plus I commented in Lady Sybil ginger biscuit post while waiting for a new post to comment on.
