Description from the amazon:
They’ve done it!!! The pirate kids have found buried treasure!!! Too bad Rotten Tooth was there to take it away, mumbling something about scallywags . . .

But when all the pirates on the Sea Rat come down with a mysterious illness, the kids start to wonder if it could have something to do with their treasure.

Could it be cursed?

Amusing quote:
"Blimey, being a pirate kid sure is hard work sometimes," I said.

"Aye, Pete, and splashy work," Gary added.

In-a-word(s): arrrrr
First note that this is a chapter book and for ages 4-8. But me being me, doesn't stop me from reading this gem of a book.

Along with friendship, team work and a bit o'pirate-ing with a life lesson or two to be learned this is a book that I enjoyed reading and reading aloud.

AND, the illustrations are a hoot that go well with the storyline as well ;-D
