The Gates

Alice followed the Fairy Jellica, up a hill and found herself before orange fabric flapping in the breeze.

Fairy Jellica: We must go through this set of gates and we'll be at the Wonderfully Wacky Whatsitland Race finish line.

Alice continued to follow Jellica and the butterflies through the gates admiring the scenery. Curiously the scenery fluctuated from hillsides to fields to gardens to etc. in a manner of seconds. Little did she know she was walking in a time tunnel much like the Glass Tunnel where one can move through distances in a short amount of time. A kind of worm hole.

Alice: Fairy Jellica, this is my first time in attendance of the race. Can you tell me more about it?

Fairy Jellica: Oh, Alice. It is a grand affair! *clapping her hands with pleasure as the butterflies around her dance about*

The Wonderfully Wacky Whatsitland Race is a race that takes place every 6 years and provides much entertainment to the people of Whatsitland. The fairgrounds at the finish line is filled with excitement. There are many things to do and see during and after the race. We shall explore afterwards, hmmm?

The race is relatively new. This is the 4th race so far. The race is only open to 68 participants who are of leporidae background.

Each race is hosted by a family from the House of Cards. This year's event was opened by The Spades.

The race itself is quite challenging and lasts 3 days with obstacle courses that start in Wonderland, goes through your world and ends here in Whatsitland.

Of course, the objective is speed. The first one to the finish line wins. The winner gets a gold medal and the prestigious position of being the host Queen's court messenger... until the next race hosted by the family. So, in this case the winner will be messenger for the Queen of Spades for the next 24 years.

Alice: Do rabbits live that long?

Fairy Jellica: *laughs with a tinkle in her voice* my dear, age has no meaning here in Whatsitland

Alice: Was Mr Jackalope in the last race?

Fairy Jellica: No, in fact this is his first year to participate. There was a bit of controversy proving his rabbit lineage. But in the end he got the stamp of approval from the judges.
