Becoming Jane (2007)
Director: Julian Jarrold
Screenplay: Kevin Hood, Sarah Williams
Based on letters by: Jane Austen
Starring: Anne Hathaway, James McAvoy

my review for soundtrack (here)

A biographical portrait of a pre-fame Jane Austen and her romance with a young Irishman.

=====> I love re-watching this one with a young Jane and her love interest. The dance scene where they delight in each other is my favorite.

Death Comes to Pemberley (2013)
tv mini-series
Director: Daniel Percival
Writer: Juliette Towhidi
Based on book by: Jane Austen, P.D. James
Starring: Matthew Rhys, Anna Maxwell Martin
-Drama, Mystery, Romance | imdb | my rating: 5

Elizabeth and Darcy, now six years married, are preparing for their annual ball when festivities are brought to an abrupt halt. An adaptation of PD James's homage to Pride and Prejudice.

=====> Flashback scenes of incidents in Pride and Prejudice are included in this story that takes place after the marriage of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth.

Loved the subtle soft blurry shots that created a cozy feel to Pemberley. The many scenes inside, outside and around Pemberley gave a wonderful sense of the place. Would love to see another movie set there.

And, loved the cast selected for this older set of P&P characters.

Just the right amount of quibbling and affection (including a steamy scene) between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth kept things lively.

It was fun to see Georgiana have her own storyline and love interest.

Big wonder - Why did they think is sensible to put a murder suspect in the gun room?
