Stocking Stuffer: steampunk

Holiday gift ideas are in the air.

Here's a possibility for steampunkers...

The Invention of Hugo Cabret
by Brian Selznick

Orphan, clock keeper, and thief, Hugo lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, where his survival depends on secrets and anonymity.

But when his world suddenly interlocks with an eccentric, bookish girl and a bitter old man who runs a toy booth in the station, Hugo's undercover life, and his most precious secret, are put in jeopardy.

A cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, a mechanical man, and a hidden message from Hugo's dead father form the backbone of this intricate, tender, and spellbinding mystery.

SEE the movie this month...

Hugo (2011)

I plan on watching this clockworks-filled flick during the holiday break.

How about you? What holiday movies will you be catching in the theatre?

  1. Nothing, everything is so 3D and that makes me all bleh

  2. I watch movies at home but we have our favorite holiday picks which include A Christmas Story and Mr. Bean ;D

Hugo looks visually amazing, let us know if you liked it!

  3. Of course I'm going to watch HUGO! dragging my hubs along with the sister and I hahaha

  4. I have to agree with Blodeuedd that the 3D's give me head aches.
But I would like to try to see Hugo with the kids.
